Murray Middle School Teams 7422Z, 7422X and 7422M are going to Vex Worlds Championship

Congratulations to Mrs. Michelle Brouchoud and teams 7422 Z/X/M for being invited to participate in the Vex Worlds Championship.  Both teams will be competing with other teams from around the globe. This is the first time a middle school team from Ridgecrest has ever qualified to compete at World Championships. Very proud of the teams and their hard work to get to this very important stage of Robotics competition.

previous ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Jan 2015: Three teams from Ridgecrest Robotic Mustangs competed in the California High Desert VEX Robotics Middle School League at Ranchero Middle School in Hesperia, CA. At the conclusion of the league competitions, team 7422M claimed the highest ranking giving them an automatic qualifier to the Southern California Middle School VRC State Championship scheduled for Feb 13-14, 2015 in Pasadena, CA. Teams 7422 ranked 2nd and team 7422Z ranked 5th. All three teams competed in the final competition on Feb 7, 2015.

Feb 2015: Team 7422M walked away with two trophies at the conclusion of the Middle School League competition.

Mar 2015: Team 7422M competed in the VEX State championships.  Competition was tough and they did not make it to the world championships. But they are getting ready for next year.

Mar 2015: Team 7422Z, our all-girls team, won the VEX All Girls Showcase championship on March 28, 2015 at La Reina High School in Thousand Oaks, CA.  They walked away with the tournament championship and the "THINK" trophies.

 

Mar 2016: Team 7496 was a finalist in the Hesperia High School Vex League Tournament.

April 2016: Team 7422H qualified for the VEX regional competition in Iowa.

April 2016: Team 7422Z and 7496S qualified for the VEX State Championships in Bakersfield, CA

May 2016: Team 7496S (aka Matrix) won the 3rd place at the Skybot Challenge 2016, a drone based competition in Las Vegas, NV.  Team 7496 (aka Rabid Elephants) won the Spirit Award.

March 2017: Team 7496S participated in the Vex State Championships in Bakersfield, CA.

May 2017: Two teams from Immanuel Christian School participated in the Skybot Challenge 2017 and placed 2nd and 8th out of 29 in the qualifying round. Team 3B (Dyslexia Untied) won the best Engineering Notebook Award.

 

2018 ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Ridgecrest teams this season have done very well in the VEX Robotics competitions. Below is the list of awards they won.
1. Team 7422H from Burroughs won the Excellence award – the most coveted award – ranking #1 in the qualifications rounds for the High School League in Hesperia.
2. Team 7422C from Burroughs won the team work award at the High School League in Hesperia.
3. Team 7496H, a home school team, won the judges award at the High School League in Hesperia.
4. Team 7422H won the judges award at the one day “Game of Cones” tournament hosted by Sultana school in Hesperia.
5. Team 7422M from Murray also won the Excellence award – the most coveted award – ranking #1 in the qualifications rounds for the Middle School League in Hesperia.
6. Team 7496C from Immanuel won tournament championship at the Middle School League in Hesperia.
7. Team 7422M from Murray also won tournament championship at the Middle School League in Hesperia.
8. Team 7496S from Immanuel won the “THINK” award at the Middle School League in Hesperia. This award is for technical excellence as they were the only team with consistent autonomous mode. No other team of 32 teams could demonstrate this capability.
9. Team 7496C from Immanuel won the “ENERGY” award at the Middle School League in Hesperia.
10. Teams 7422H, 7422M and 7496C qualify for state championship and the Nationals in IOWA.
Team 7422H is going to IOWA to compete in the High School Nationals.
Teams 7422M and 7496S are going to Vallejo, CA to compete in the Middle School State Championships. Team 7422H is going to Bakersfield, CA to compete in the High School State Championships.
​11. Two teams from Immanuel Christian School participated in the Skybot 2018 drone competition in Las Vegas on May 19th. Both teams walked away with the 4th place award competing against 16 teams from Las Vegas. Congratulations to the SR-71 Blackbirds and Nukebots.

2019 ACCOMPLISHMENTS

1. ICS Teams 7496S and 7496C competed at the one day tournament at Joe Walker Middle School in Quartz Hill, CA along with 25 other teams from California. 7496S ranked 2nd overall in the qualifier rounds and made it through the finals in the   elimination rounds to take the tournament championship. 7496C ranked 5th overall in the qualifier rounds.
​2. The Burroughs High School Team 7422B won the Excellence award and the Tournament Championship at the High Desert High School League Competition in Hesperia, CA. Congratulations to 7422B. They qualify for State Championships in March as well as Nationals in April. 7422B also ranked #1 overall in the league.
3. Two ICS teams from Ridgecrest - 7496C and 7496S together took the league championship at todays Hesperia Vex Middle School League. In addition, 7496C won the “design” award and 7496S won the “think” award. Congratulations to both teams. They qualify for State Championships in March.
4. ​Team 7422B from Burroughs High School took the excellence award and the tournament championship at the West Salem Turning Point championship.
5. Two Teams from Immanuel Christian School participated in the 2019 Skybot Challenge Competition in Las Vegas and took the top seeded finalist and tournament championship. Team NukeBots took the Business Pitch Award and Team SR-71 Blackbirds took the Team Inspiration Award. Visit www.skybotchallenge.us for more details.

2. Middle School 7496C won Amaze award at Hesperia, CA

3. High School 7422X won the Tournament Championship at Hesperia, C

4. High School 7422H won Tournament Finalist at Hesperia, CA

5. High School 7422X won the Excellence award at Hesperia, CA

6. High School 7422X qualified for Nationals in Council Bluffs, IA

7. High School 7422X qualified for State Championship in Bakersfield, CA

8. High School 7422B qualified for State Championship in San Diego, CA

9. Middle School 7422Z qualified for State Championship in Bakersfield, CA
